Not quite there yet because the Magico's are notoriously slow to break-in. Out of the box they have a hot treble and a recessed midrange but give it a few hundred hours and the magic in Magico becomes apparent. With good recordings and decent equipment (Jack demo-ed them with dCS for good reason) the speakers simply disappear and you are left to wonder where this compelling sound is coming from. Yes, we can talk about the exceptional soundstage, the amazing beryllium tweeter that manages to be highly resolving yet smooth and refined, the woofer's ability to bring to life a female voice in front of you, fleshed out and tonally accurate, the resonance free cabinet etc but ultimately all this is irrelevant. This is one of the best compact bookshelves I have ever heard full stop and an end game for me, after years of investing big money on this hobby. Those of you who seek a high end sound for a small / medium room should ignore these Magico's at their own peril.
