“I run my music library from a NAS into a streamer/DAC (Bartok) and I had read a lot of mixed reviews about network switches and ethernet cables that lead to a lot of opposing views as to whether it is money well spent or money being wasted. After a lot of research it became apparent that the only way for you to know for your system is to try it yourself and listen... So i decided to upgrade my cheap 5 port Netgear switch with the EE 8Switch, knowing that it was an experiment and i could always sell it on if necessary. So i was quite surprised when i could hear a clear and notable improvement in sound quality for my setup. I had read various reviews using lots of fancy words to describe changes in SQ, but to me it was an uplift in clarity across the board; like a veil being lifted. To be clear it was an incremental improvement, not like the DAC upgrade moving to the Bartok. But its noticeable and something worth having for the price. When you start adding up incremental improvements, you get big improvements; you just need to balance this out against the cost and for an audiophile network switch, this one is great value compared to some of the others.”
