“I thought my existing power cable would be very difficult to top, but after trying various different brands, it was clear the Shunyata cables were a cut above. They are surely not cheap, but the effect is no less than upgrading a main component in a well balanced system. This particular cable when powering my amp just made everything clearer, with a more expansive soundstage, a more focused bass and digs out lots of details that can otherwise get buried. While being really quite a thick cable, it is surprisingly flexible, with stunning build quality.”

“Connected to a dCS Rossini DAC I found that the Shunyata Alpha XC v2 helps to increase the dynamics of the music and give some extra body to the sound. Kick drums have greater ‘thump’ to them, for example. I preferred the XC to the NR, but I’d recommend trying both if you can. I think the result achieved from any mains lead will depend very much on what it is being plugged into (at both ends).”
