I have quite a lot of music files which aren't available on music streaming services. I wanted a player that could play my files plus use streaming services. I was a bit unsure about using roon before my purchase, I thought it may be too busy and complicated but it wasn't. Rune is so simple to use, even my wife was navigating and playing music straight away. The Grimm mu2 sound is fantastic and very addictive, I can't wait to play music sometimes and find it hard to finish as want to listen to more. I'm absolutely delighted with my purchase.

I was at an audio crossroads. And Graeme suggested I tried the Grimm MU2. I demoed the Mu2 for 1 week. It was not a difficult decision to trade most of my audio set up for this one box solution. My system was no slouch. I ended up trading in with Jack. A chord Dave Dac, chord m scaler, Innuos mk3 streamer, naim hi cap, and naim 282 and a lot of high end cables towards the Mu2. The Mu2 is a much better sounding streamer than what I had. It uses Roon. Which I was sceptical about. But after a week, there are a lot of benefits over the Innuos sense app. Which is way better. For what the Mu2 offers it’s actually good value for money.

If anyone is wondering whether this is better than the MU1 plus Dave or Bartok (my previous setup) then quite honestly I think the improvement is not just small but significant. (Sorry not heard with the Mola Mola). You have extreme detail but delivered in a wonderfully natural and beautiful presentation. Bass is very powerful and you never have any sibilance or other unpleasant digital characteristics which you digital music can sometimes display. It really is a magical device. Just look up Alpha Audio on YouTube where a couple of Dutch fellows discuss the device. They explain it better than I can and most reviews result in the reviewer talking more about what they listened to rather than the device itself. It just presents you with the music in a very special way. Just be aware you do need to burn it in. I have no idea why this is necessary but I burned it in for 100hrs before it settled down. It never sounded "bad" during the process but just not as good as I heard it in the Audio Barn. This is quite easy to do anyway as you can just play music and leave the amp off. After 100hrs it actually now sounds even better than it did in the Demo. Pairing with Feliks Envy and Susvara with Elrog MO tubes. It's a simply outstanding and rather unique product. Don't take my word for it - have a demo and you will see what I mean.
