Took advice from Ben at the Audiobarn regarding upgrading my Auralic vega g1. The S1 + PSU was definitely worthwhile, offers more clarity/detail over the g1, also offers the full use of the lightning server, which is a bonus. Music sessions now last even longer, very happy customer

The Vega S1 is my third Vega dac and is comfortably the best. I haven’t heard the Vega G2 or G3 but have owned the Altair G2.1. In my view, the S1 gives nothing away to the Altair in terms of sound quality. The S1 also manages to successfully tread the line between being clear and detailed without being at all fatiguing. The streamer works flawlessly but I purchased the unit primarily as a dac so the pure dac mode is a welcome addition for those who don’t need or want the streaming functionality. Adding the S1 PSU does bring some improvement in sound but for me it was subtle. In summation, if sound quality is the primary concern, I would say the Vega S1 is something of a bargain since it possesses virtually all the features of the far more expensive Vega G2.2. The unit is also well made and has lots of features. Highly recommended.

After upgrading my Naim SuperUniti all-in-one to the new Nait 50 integrated, I was after a DAC that would partener well with the Nait and give me the best performance for the money. As well as a way to control volume from my sofa. The Aurelic Vega S1 ticks all those boxes and more. The Vega S1 sounds clean crisp and has great soundstage and seperation. But unlike a few othere dacs I tried, it is smooth and not fatiguing. I have been running the Vega S1 in Direct DAC mode, which to me sounds best. But it is also a full fledged streamer, with features like Tidal Connect, AirPlay, and Roon. I find Auralic's dedicated app Lightning DS a bit simplistic with some features missing, So I still prefer to use my Innuos as a server with the Sense App. But I do like how customisable the Vega S1 is with so many options to tweak the overall sound the DAC produces. The unit doesn't come with a remote. but you can program one that you already have lying around, I found some remotes work better than others. Overall very happy with the purchase.

The Vega S1 is a big step up from my vega g1 I had before. Very well made , sounds amazing. Also great value for. Money . I purchased it with the optional psu that is designed to work with the vega S1 and extra £995 but makes a big difference and relatively inexpensive compared to other off board psu s .

Only had this for a month or so, therefore I’m still getting used to its functions and sound. First impressions are very good, it has a clean and natural presentation, clear and dynamic. I also is it as a dac with my Naim unity core, again, very impressive dynamics. Very elegant to look at and a breeze to use. My only slight grumble is I would have liked a digital out, should I consider a dac upgrade in the future, but that’s it! Brilliant product and a very competitive price for this standard. Highly recommend, Phil
