“The Naim CD5si is a wonderful partner for my Naim XS3 and as with the XS3 the music is delivered at pace, a rich sound that is wonderful with vocals and has plenty of weight. The pacy delivery means that changes in the music's loudness, tempo and rhythm are handled at speed going from quiet to loud a lot faster than I have been used to. If I was to be picky I would say that the soundstage is not quite as spacious as I have had before.”

“Naim's famous 'empty box' turns out to be a box of delights for Red Book CD's! It might be Naim's entry level player, but it punches far above its weight and provides me with an excellent solution for CD playback in an overall streaming-based hifi system. It does not offer a digital upgrade path, but then neither does the CD555,”
