This can be compared with the colour chart supplied; the deeper the colour the higher the level of cholesterol.When to test Routine measurement of blood cholesterol is recommended for men over 35 years old and women over 45 years if there are no other risk factors. If other risk factors are present, testing is recommended for all those over 20 years old.What time of the day should the diabetes test be used You can run the test at any time of the day and you do not need to fast before it.DirectionsYou take a tiny blood sample which is absorbed on a receiving pad on the back of a test strip.The blood sample absorbs through to the front of a test strip and reacts with the reagents.The colour produced on the reaction pad can be related to the cholesterol concentration in the blood by comparison with a supplied colour chart.The deeper the colour is, the higher the Cholesterol level.
