About 2 months ago I decided to try the natural approach to deodorant. My first try was the L'Occitane Verbena and I just love the citrus scent. It's not like an exteme lemon smell, just a much softer nicer and fresher scent, that would work just as well on a man or a lady. It took me about 5 days for my underarms to "detox", and I was getting a bit niffy after a heavy gym workout, but now there is no bad smells at all, and hasnt been for weeks. After watching some youtube vids about underarm detoxing, I tried "gently" using my exfoliating mitts there, and this seemed to really speed the process along. I have had no bad reactions to using this, even when using it directly after I shave my underarms in a hot shower. It is extremely gentle on the skin. I think that's due to verbena not being as acidic as lemon. I Now find that when I get hot and sweaty training, all I can smell is the lovely aroma of the verbena. Which is quite refreshing when you're struggling with push-ups. lol I did buy some others to try as the L'Occitane is so darn expensive, including Pit Paste - Lemonade (which irritated a little at first), and Herban Cowboy - Blossom. Whilst these are both excellent at stopping any unpleasant BO, I find that once applied there is no nice or fresh smells from either of them. The scent just seems to evaporate. Overall, if (like me) you are insane enough to spend £14 quid on a deodorant, then the L'occitane is the best and most gentle about.
