“The chili's were generally very good. I ordered late in the season there were quite a few that were very ripe i.e. red. While nothing to do with the company, the box was very damaged on delivery. Torn down one whole side and crushed. Not sure if the box quality is high enough for the weight versus unusual shipping damage.”

“I have been a life long fan of Hatch chilis. I grew up in the area. I ordered 50lbs of Big Jim to the Austin, Tx area. When the chilis arrived and I opened the boxes and I was disapointed. Only about half were green. The rest had turned to red or almost red. There were several chilis per box (two boxes) that had spoiled, became so soft that they leaked out and made a mess. I actually tossed out about a third of my order. I Love Hatch chile. That won't change but I expected a better product and am just sad. Regards, Todd McLaughlin”

Hi Todd, This is why we strongly recommend you choose 2-Day Air when ordering perishables from us. Ground shipping results in higher in-transit temperatures and longer delivery times. This also causes more of your chile to ripen to red in-transit. This chile is fine to eat with the green and provides a beautiful color contrast to the green. “This is the 3rd year I have ordered from your farm. The first year I ordered late in the season. That shipment was tasty but on the small size. Last year I ordered early. The chiles were outstanding! It must have been a banner year. The size, color & most importantly taste was the best I'd had in years. This year falls somewhere in the middle. The chiles were not quite as large, and did not seem quite as good as last year. However, I have used them already in cooking & they seem to be fine. I think you have a tremendous product . It is worth the price every year.”
