“I read about the Franzoy family in the New Mexico magazine when visiting Santa Fe last August and decided to place my 2017 order with this family owned business. Also, I believe I read that Tomasita's in Santa Fe orders their chile from the Franzoy family and it is delicious. It would be nice to know if their green chile sauce is just Big Jims or a combination of different chiles as I'm trying to capture the same flavor at home. The Hatch Chile Store notified me they were about to ship just as I was leaving town and were very accommodating with delaying my fresh chile order until my return. It appeared that the shipment was on the UPS truck all day long in Arizona, so I was disappointed that UPS could not even ring the bell to let me know it was there. The box of Big Jims was warm upon arrival, so fortunately I was able to start washing and roasting it right away. The chile seems to have very good flavor, but does not seem to be as spicy as I hoped. It would be nice to have access to a chile forcast so that I can tell whether the chiles will be mild or med-hot each year. Thanks!”

“Very fresh on delivery. Easy to roast and peel. Delicious! Kinda of expensive, but then again I don't live in Las Cruces anymore. The Big Jim could be a bit hotter...perhaps think of selling mixes of Big Jim and Sandia.”
