Hello Theresa, This does happen sometimes especially with the freezing temperatures we saw last week. I recommend keeping the tamales in the package and then running them under cold water for a few minutes to break up the ice and that way you can get the amount you need. You can also place them in your refrigerator and let them thaw out that way. It is safe to refreeze them after they have thawed in there.
