“Just like to add some comments on the use of poly Filter
Paul Talbot swears by It's use in all aquariums . From my own experience in a marine tank it's '"ok"' it's not a miracle filter medium , it is great for removing copper and other medications and chemicals out of the water . It helps slightly in removing organic matter , but will not make a cloudy tank clear overnight . I had a massive algae and bacteria bloom after putting polyfilter in the sump . I would say this came about after the copper was quickly removed , it was so bad you couldn't see the fish , the only thing that cleared it up was a UVc sterilizer which took about a week . it has been crystal clear ever since.
I would use Poly filter before carbon , I think it does a much better job by far , but not a miracle solution.”
