Hi Sarah, Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you did not feel this product was up to scratch. Our MAP-packed mussels can appear slightly open and unresponsive when they are removed from the box but this doesn't usually mean they are not alive and fresh. If you ever feel something isn't right with a product, the best thing to do is get in touch and we will be able to give you all the information you need to either reassure you or advise you to discard it. The important thing is that you are completely satisfied with your order. Best wishes, The Wright Brothers

One pack perfect nice flavour the second upon opening and rinsing 80 percent would not close So I’ am afraid no chances all in bin The rest of order all fine

Hi Daniel, This may have been due to the MAP (modified atmosphere packaging) boxes that our mussels come in, which prolongs their shelf life but also sends them into a sort of hibernation. They tend to remain slightly open and not respond much/at all to being tapped (how you would usually check netted mussels) they are sometimes assumed dead, but this is usually not the case. There is more information within the product description on our website but if you ever have any questions please call customer services on 020 3855 5300. Best wishes, The Wright Brothers
