“With the longer models and multiple monitors, there can be a bit of flex in the middle. This hasn't created and issues though so far. Apart from that, it works well.”
“Could not have chosen a better time to buy this desk. With locatiwn, I am working from home Full time and my movement in a day has reduced significantly as compared to office so I now work standing for 20 minutes then sit for 20 min.”
“I normally dont review anything, but omnidesk is just too good, extremely sturdy desk, controls are easy, setup is simple, holds all my components, and arrived in just a few days. Seriously if you're thinking of buying, DO IT!”
“Been using this for over a month now, and I'm quite pleased with it.
Before purchase I'd read concerns about standing desks being a bit wobbly, and as I use a 55 inch TV for a monitor, I wondered how stable it would be, particularly since at 6'2" I'd probably have it higher than average.
Happy to say that everything is nice and stable! Even intense gameplaying doesn't make anything rock in a scary way. If you try to do rapid squats right in front of it, you can probably get the TV wobbling, but for normal use it's great. I haven't tried twerking in front of the desk...nor am I likely to, so you'll have to test that out yourself, or check out the other reviews.
Even at my height (1.88m) I still choose to be about 10cm lower than the maximum when standing, so given that it only needs to be as high as your elbows, it should be good for people even over 2m tall. I have had problems with RSI from a poorly heighted desk in the past, so it's great to have a desk that's the perfect height, sitting or standing. I don't stand on a mat or treadmill or anything, just the same floor the desk is on, so if you want to do step aerobics while computing, you'll probably have to put the desk up a bit more to make up for the height of the step.
Goes up and down nice and quick, just press the button, and by the time you've pushed away or retrieved your chair, the desk is ready at your new height.
Not hard to put together, the manual included was more up to date than the video on the omnidesk site, but either would be enough to get the job done. Then again I'm some kind of genius, so if you're pretty dumb, maybe ask for some help.
I got the shortest (least wide) of the desk tops, mostly because that's all there is room for here given the furniture on either side, but also because I am cheap. That means my computer tower goes on a desk to the side of the omnidesk, because a 55 inch TV is a pretty big monitor. If you have a sensible sized monitor, there's plenty of room for a tower to go with it even on the smallest size omnidesk. Alternatively you can put it next to it like me, or get the bracket to hold it that omnidesk sell, or get MacGyver or the A-Team to whip something up with popsicle sticks and a rubber band. The only thing that didn't like going up and down was the powered USB hub, which doesn't reach up that high from a powerboard on the floor. Again, you can buy more stuff to help with that, or just get an extension cord, or put a powerboard on the desk next to the omnidesk like I have, or get a USB hub that wasn't 35 cents on eBay and actually comes with a long enough power cord.
The surface works fine for me, I don't need to put a mouse mat on it, but I know this is a personal thing and if you're the type of person who spent $200 bucks on a mouse and keyboard mat because you really think it makes a difference to the $150 one, you might want to keep using it.
Overall I couldn't be happier with it really, and I think it's doing good things for my back an posture. Different people will spend different amounts of time sitting or standing, depending on how hung over they are etc, but it's just really good to have two comfortable positions you can use the computer at. So when you feel yourself slouching because you've been sitting too long, hit that button and stand up for a while. When you feel you've been standing up too long and want to give your feet a rest, hit the other button, and sit down with good posture on your chair because you haven't been sitting all day.
Pretty good price too, compared to the competition.
I would definitely recommend the omnidesk to my friends, if I had any.”
“I cannot express how grateful right now that i got this table during chrismas. It make my "work from home" unblievably comfortable and not even mentioning so much healthier. Although delivery is slightly delayed, but it's understandable during chrismas plus customer service is being extra helpful and informative!
Highly recommend for gamers, office workers, or just practically anyone that realise how important a nice desk can be.”
“This has got to be the best desk I've ever had. It's clean, sleek, easy to use and setup. Lots of add-on features that can improve the setup and just a nice style overall.”
