“I'll start by saying I absolutely love my Omnidesk. As someone who lives in an apartment and has been in lockdown and quarantine for prolonged periods, having a sit down/stand up desk has completely transformed the way I work from home.
The desk itself is stable and sturdy, the motor is smooth and quiet, and speed at which the desk moves up and down is a lot faster than I had anticipated.
In hindsight (and if I had the room in my apartment), I probably would have bought a size up, but the small size still works for me and fits two 23.5" screens plus my laptop.
The desk set up was a bit challenging. I found the paper instructions hard to follow but the YouTube video tutorial was a great substitute. The set up took longer than expected, and requires two people (in my experience). If I was located in a region where I could pay to have it assembled for me, I would have.
I also purchased the Omnidesk Arc Pro Dual Monitor Arms with my desk. The instruction manual for this product is not great. It was quite frustrating to figure out how to assemble the arms to the desk and then how to get the arms to move. After much trial and error, I called Omnidesk for extra support. The customer service agent was very helpful and emailed me some instructions which made a lot more sense. A recommendation to Omnidesk would be to send these instructions to customers when they purchase the monitor arms. I can guarantee that it would save the customer a lot of time and effort. Now that the arms are assembled and attached to the desk, I couldn't fault them. Really glad I purchased them.
I also bought the cable management bar which has been imperative for keeping my cords neat and tidy. The cable management bar can impede the monitor arm mount when installed as per normal (i.e. in the pre-drilled holes). I ended up flipping the cable management bar 180 degrees and mounting it with the open side facing the rear of the desk (as suggested in the YouTube video tutorial). I had to drill/screw my own holes for this, which was quite tedious.
Shipping time was reasonable. My desk was shipped by a company called Hunter Express. The company doesn't have the best rating on Google Reviews. This made me a bit nervous, especially because I had spent so much money on this purchase. In my experience, tracking the order was simple. The courier called me 1 hour before they were due to arrive which was great. They left my boxes outside of my apartment building which I was a bit disappointed with, given the risk of theft. It also meant that I had to get 5 large, heavy boxes up to my apartment by myself. My boxes arrived a bit damaged but none of the products inside were damaged as they were well protected by packaging/styrofoam etc.
Hopefully this review is helpful for those considering purchasing an Omnidesk. Despite some of the challenges that I had with set up and shipping, I am over the moon with my purchase and couldn't recommend a better product.”
