“I like to think that the mat protects the desktop. The full-sized mat covers the entire table top, which is what I like.
And it also had the added advantage of hiding a little mark (dent) that I made accidentally dropping the ARC stealth arm with the laptop mount on the desk while trying to remove the arm to install the mat.
Pro-tip: If you do purchase this big mat, and getting the arm, AND you're paying for installation, please get the installers to place the mat on the desk before they install the arm. Otherwise, you'll have to remove the base of the arm in order to place the mat properly on the desk, like I had to. T.T (Thank goodness the support team member was really patient and guided me through the process.)
Would have been nice to have it in white, or a transparent mat, since the desktop is white.”
