“As an esthetician who's worked as a beauty expert in high-end and professional salon/spa retail environments I loved the idea of a talc free/clean dry shampoo because not only do I want talc nowhere near my skin but more importantly I also want it nowhere in the air I breathe. While I am a fan of the brand's philosophy to make clean eco-conscious high quality hair products formulated with ingredients that promote healthier hair, I am sad to say I am not a fan of this product. I used this as I would any other dry shampoo when my hair was quite oily and I didn't feel like it did a very good job of absorbing oil because I noticed sort of a greasy residue at my roots where I'm guessing my natural oils mixed with the powder. It gave me some volume but it did not make my hair look or feel clean at the root. The product looked quite ashy on my hair and it didn't fully blend in even when brushed or massaged in with my fingers. The brush on style applicator wasn't user friendly for me as it was a challenge to get an even amount of product to brush on throughout the application process. Sometimes product would brush on and other times essentially nothing would. I would be able to get over that frustrating and time consuming aspect if that was my only issue and it weren't for the fact that this product irritated my scalp. Due to it making my scalp feel itchy and irritated I ended up having to wash my hair that day because the product felt uncomfortable which totally defeated the purpose that I applied dry shampoo in the first place. I expected that once I rinsed the product my scalp would be soothed but I noticed as I was running water through my hair I felt some irritation. I've used natural non-aerosol dry shampoo before as well as regular high and low end brands and none of them made my scalp feel irritated & uncomfortable like this one did. The overall experience was a bummer because I loved the concept of the product and wanted it to work for me.”
“The Rootist Clarify Balancing Serum is amazing! After the first use, it made my scalp feel smoother. When I first put it on, it tingled a bit, and I thought it was going to irritate my scalp more but after a few seconds it went away and was actually soothing my scalp. I love that you don’t need to rinse it out and can do it after your shower. I was afraid that using an oil on an oily scalp wouldn’t work but it does! I would recommend this serum to anyone who has had issues with scalp irritation and greasy hair.”

“My scalp tends to get oily because of certain hair care products. I also notice that when I do use a dry shampoo to fix the problem, it does the opposite. It results in my scalp being overly dry. However, after using The Rootist Clarify Balancing Serum, I have found the perfect balance for my scalp. I like the scene of this serum, it isn't overpowering. The serum itself is easy to absorb into my scalp. I simply applied the serum right on my roots of clean and towel-dried hair and then massaged it. Unlike other serum/oils I have used before, this product does not feel heavy on my scalp. It is easy to use and a little bit goes a long way. It can be used up to three times per week to achieve a balanced scalp.”
“This is such a gorgeous product! First, the phenomenal groovy, retro style packaging! These drops are simply lovely for scalp health! The glass bottle is just so unique, with the natural fragrance, the Biofermentation used to create this line, along with it's effectiveness, make it an incredible choice for scalp health. I absolutely love the minty refreshing slightly cooling feeling, while administering these drops. It took 2 full droppers to cover my whole head, and after a few weeks of usage, I noticed my scalp began to feel less irritated, and this was so soothing and a true sensory experience. While applying these drops, I felt as though I was on a sun drenched island beach resort, as I closed my eyes and felt my scalp massager bringing a cool, refreshing breeze into each follicle, and I was sent into relaxation mode, as my scalp felt so loved on. This has been superbly effective at keeping oils at bay, while helping with returning my scalp to a healthy, clean feeling place, as well as noticing more shine in my hair! What a fabulous product!”

“I had never tried a scalp serum formulated specifically for oily scalps before this product, but I just had to try this one after looking at the ingredients! Super clean ingredients, formulated with salicylic acid which is a great ingredient for oily skin, and it also has Chlorella which I’ve never seen in a hair care product but love the idea! My oily scalp has LOVED this stuff! My hair is usually oily the next day, but just in the first week of using this I notice my hair is significantly less oily and I’m using less dry shampoo!”
“To start off with the aspects of the product I like, the component is very luxurious feeling and the dropper is great. It dispenses the perfect amount of the product. I like that the serum is not too runny and not too thick. The texture is perfect. The smell is also very pleasant. If you like eucalyptus then you will love the scent. it is not too overpowering which I appreciate. The reason I gave the product 3 stars is because I do not think it helped with balancing the oiliness of my scalp which is the primary purpose of this clarifying serum. It felt nice when I applied it kind of like a cooling effect but again the purpose of the serum was to be clarifying and I do not think it achieved that purpose. ”
