Clarify Balancing Serum for Oily Scalp Reviews

4.6 Rating 98 Reviews
The Rootist Clarifying Balancing Serum helps to clarify product from my scalp and balancing my scalp skin. I had a lot of product build up in my scalp and it would become flaky. I used this prior to washing and after washing and my hair and scalp had minimal flaking leading up to my next wash day. I felt like it balanced my scalp and helped to rid it of left over product and buildup. My hair looked fantastic when I had a blow out and I loved the way my scalp felt.

I have been a cosmetologist for over 32 years, I’m always looking for that wonderful product that will help my hair customers, this product is directly for someone with hair like me - my ends are always dry and my roots are always oily so I was excited to try this product. It has a light smell that is very clean and I just put the drops in my hand and focussed on my roots, you leave it in and it takes a lot of the oil out it gave me 2 to 3 days without my hair being oily usually I would have to wash my hair every day so I do think it’s a great product and it has, great ingredients that balance, your scalp and hair.

I’m not a fan. The smell was a little strange almost tobacco smell. I found it irritating a little as it tingled I guess working. I don’t have sensitive skin but it seems a little more than normal for it to tingle my scalp. I gave to my son to try out and it seemed more successful for him as he has had a round of dry scalp more then me lately. He scalp health seemed to recover more quickly then with other products. The weather has been dry and then humid each week so it takes toll. I appreciate the dropper for accuracy and would have liked it came with a scalp massager for the price. But overall it is good

I have oily scalp and have to wash/ dry shampoo my hair a lot because of this. After tying The Rootist oily scalp serum for just a couple days, I’ve already notice results! My scalp is reducing the oil production a little bit and my scalp is looking healthier! I recommend this product for people who want to balance their oily scalp.

Simple formulation that worked wonders on my oily scalp. My scalp gets disgusting in the winter because of oil mixed with dry skin which is itchy. This hydrated my scalp amazingly and I found that it stopped my hair from producing unnecessary oil too quickly. Smells amazing too! Easy applicator as well.

I’m a licensed cosmetologist, my passion is hair. I wanted to try Clarify Balancing Serum My hair type: 4A curly/lose coils, I have lightener and semi permanent hair color My scalp: seborrheic dermatitis (tends to get oily and dry, I guess you can say I have combination scalp When it comes to scalp oils, I’m very particular about it. Most scalp oils tend to clog my scalp and my scalp produces a lot of sebum. I had mix feelings seeing this product in person vs the pictures online. I felt this product didn’t control my sebum as much as I expected it to. I usually wash my hair twice a week but I noticed I ended up washing my hair a day after applying this oil to my freshly washed hair. It made my scalp itchy but thankfully not oily. I liked how my hair looked near the scalp area towards mid-shaft. My curls were frizz free and left my hair shiny. But my scalp was not happy with this oil. This oil had too many good properties to help with controlling sebum but my scalp felt itchy and clogged. I tried this oil on my teen daughter’s scalp, who suffers from the same scalp problem and she too agreed her scalp was itchy and felt clogged. I’m not sure who this product would really work for but it wasn’t for me. I’m not sure if I would recommend this to any of my clients.

I am a 30 year old female with oily scalp. I try to not use a lot of products in my hair because of product buildup. But I am glad that I got this product. 3 full droppers are enough to cover my scalp. I partition my hair into sections, apply the serum and massage it in. I love the cooling sensation and the fragrance. After 5 uses, I see a noticeable difference in my scalp, it does not get flaky, my hair looks fresh and there is no product buildup. But does it balancing the oil production? I cannot confirm it yet because I still have to shampoo every 2-3 days, so there is no instant difference in that regard I would say. But I understand that these kind of products can take time since it is trying to balance the scalp from within. So I am excited to see long term results. One drawback however is that after my hair dries, I can feel that there is some residue in hair (it’s not sticky, but still there) if not massaged in properly.

The rootist balancing serum is a must have for oily scalps! I use 2 drops of the serum on towel dried, clean hair and massage it in with a wooden scalp massager. My scalp feels fresh and clean after using and I have noticed the lengths of my hair looking healthier as well. The scent is a nice, clean scent that isn’t overpowering. The dropper applicator is easy to use and the overall component is durable. In all, I highly recommend this product if you’re looking to clarify your scalp.
