“The Benson Monarch Reverb Plus Combo is an incredible amp. I owned an OG Monarch Reverb for years and even a Dizzy Bird, which is a Vinny + Tall Bird reverb tank all in one unit. The Monarch Reverb Plus reminds me of that feature-rich configuration, except that everything is on-board now. The power scaling is very useful and fun to use. The relative volume is still no joke even at the lowest setting, but what I find is that I can achieve saturation / lush overdriven tones even in my small room without rattling the windows out of their frame. If you want a super low-volume amp, you might consider the Vinny Reverb (10" speaker, etc.). For me, the Monarch Reverb Plus does it all. I like the tonal difference between the Benson ceramic speaker + the Soundsound and Mallory components. I loved the OG (Mercury Magnetics) components + Celestion G12H, but the new Monarch Reverb Plus is somehow even sweeter. I consider this a forever amp! With the onboard Tall Bird style reverb and the power scaling as flexible as it is, I don't even use pedals when playing this beast.”
