“Brilliant preamp by way of dirt/fuzz. I went with this version to ensure I had the greatest headroom and variation of gain among all the variants, and I'm quite glad that I did. Before using it, the toggle switch had struck me as arbitrary, but after using it I came to realize that it helps focus the user on three versatile bands of gain (low/coloration into saturation, medium/dirty up to distorting, high/blitzing but not outrageous fuzz). There are variations which allow the dual-gain level circuit to have volumes of the stages adjusted independently, so maybe there's potential for more control, but right now, the design is perfect. I love that there is no tone/EQ knob, just a roll-off for low end. This is not a pedal which distorts your signal and gives you half-baked EQ after the fact, its controls shape how/where in the frequency band your signal hits the gain (with all low end present, high gain settings lose high end, but cutting back the low end brings high frequencies back in). I've noticed that this is highly reactive feeding into another preamp pedal of mine, so I recommend this above all for creative gain staging and coloration of your tone. Beautiful in its design and operation, worth the steep price.”

“Excellent low and medium gain boost/OD. The high gain leaves something to be desired but that’s not what I was after anyways so all in all great pedal that really livens up your guitar signal and brings the thunder should you want that.”
