“I like the look of these tiles and we have laid them in two rooms. The slip resistance is great. However, the fitter mentioned they seem very thin for floor tiles and they do break very easily. They are advertised here as 8.5mm but I just measured it to be 6mm. I don't look forward to people dropping things in our bath/shower rooms. I suspect they are also more likely to move due to floor movement.”
The thickness of a tile is measured at its greatest height. Sometimes, if a tile has a slightly bevelled edge or a protruding grid pattern on the back of the tiles, this can be missed if you only measure the bare edge of the tiles. Nevertheless, the thickness of a tile would not necessarily be detrimental to the quality. Once installed with a full bed of adhesive; we would not expect any issues.
