“Bought the Maddox grey tiles for kitchen and patio and I would advise anyone to go thicker than the 8mm of this tile. In two months of having a brand new kitchen and extension fitted, three tiles are already cracked and chipped (one a glass, two unknown incidents). Even with two coats of the protector recommended by Tile Mountain they are prone to dirt and marks. Really unhappy with this floor which I have zero confidence in.”
“I bought my Maddox grey porcelain tiles in 2 batches to spread the cost
although they looked the same and the box is the same, they had a different pattern on the back side of the tile, not a problem i thought, the face still looked the same
wrong
once laid next to each other, the shade or grey is ever so slightly different, but worse still the 2 batches are slightly different sizes, once batch being a few mm smaller that the other
Doesnt sound much, but it obviously is, when you start your run with the slightly bigger tile and now have huge gaps on the rest”
We are sorry to see that you are unhappy with your tiles.
Tiles can vary from batch to batch in terms of shade, calibration, etc, as manufacturers are unable to guarantee the exact same conditions in the kiln for every firing. This is recognised and accepted by British Standards provided any variation falls within strict tolerance levels. However, when tiles from different batches are placed next to each other, this variation may be noticeable.
We do always advise ordering everything that you need to complete a project on one order, as we are unable to guarantee matching batches of tiles due to how quickly we can move through batches.
