“The only issue I had in making this pen . Was my drill press lacked the depth to drill the timber blank all the way through. I could have x the centre and drilled 50/50 from both directions, and meeting in the centre. Instead I had enough width in the blank and used a long sharp drill bit,
to free hand a battery powered drill, with the blank in a vice. This resolved that issue and everything else was straight forward. I finish my pens with linseed oil and super glue.”
“I have made a few of these pens now, and they are a nice pen to make. There is very little waste from the blank and they go well with either wood, acrylic or resin.”
“Very little waste from the blank when making these pens. One of my favorites whether using wood or acrylic blanks as they show the grain or pattern for the full length of the pen.”
“While I was disappointed with the kits initially, because the extra tube provided for assembly often does not fit over the click mechanism due to varying size of the click mechanism, Timberbits was able to advise an alternative assembly process and replaced the unusable kits.
So full marks for dealing with the problem.”
