“These pens are easy to make and easy to use. The kits are inexpensive but produce a fine looking writing instrument. With the last batch, I did find a problem with the refill getting stuck in the nib opening and when retracted would pull the cap off the refill. I overcame this by inserting the refill tip into the opening from the outside and wiggling it a few times. This seemed to free up the tight fit and worked perfectly.”
“I chose the Fancy Slimline as my first pen turning project and because they were so cheap bought about 15 of them to practice with before trying more difficult models. So far every pen I've turned has been easy and so much fun. I've used blanks made of wood and epoxy and finished them in CA. I have gone from never having turned a pen before to being able to one of these from start to finish in about 15 minutes.
I've just ordered more of them with coloured satin parts to get some variety in my growing collection.”
