“Good sake for sure, its definitely not super sweet and i get the melon, and sweet rice components, only down fall is im beginning to learn i like hot sake and im guessing nigoria dont do well heated, other than that a great nigori that is certainly in the dry category”
General rule for nigori is not to warm it up - the rice sediments might get weird in texture and alter the flavor. It might also make it overly sweet, since warming up sake brings out the umami and the sweetness.
However, I have been served a "usu nigori" which is very light in sediments, warmed up at a pairing in Japan. So you *could* try it, see what strikes your fancy - :) Thank you for your review.
Hi Tacy,
Thank you so much for your review.
Nigori is a little bit sweet sake, so I recommend it pair with some red meats. We also have an assorted set on our website, so you can compare with other NIGORI. I hope you will like it!
“Has a medium bodied consistency that I find to be very pleasant. There is definitely a hint of melon in this, but not in the sweet way that I was expecting. It has the rich scent and flavor of a ripe melon, but in a drier and more "mature" way. It's a more complex nigori than others I've had, and it makes for a nice treat.”
