“The third sake I ever tried was Hakutsuru's junmai in the brown bottle with a gold and red label. I enjoy it and buy it locally fairly often. I was excited to try their junmai ginjo. The aroma reminds me of some type of candy that I couldn't place. It was very familiar. While the sake isn't very sweet, the candy flavor does translate into the taste profile, making for an interesting characteristic. Unfortunately, I feel like it wasn't up to par with the other bottles I ordered. It was my second least favorite next to the Tozai Living Jewel.”
“This Sake is very flavorful and easy to drink! Its taste is brought out more when chilled! At room temp it is still very good and has those floral notes!”
“I detected a strong floral aroma more than I expected from other reviews. This is a smooth Saké with strong floral notes up front. The back notes that I detected were melon and dry. Very drinkable Saké I know it’s recommended chilled but honestly slightly warm is not bad either!! Experiment see how you like it!!”
“I order sake and forget how much anything costs, so when I taste it, it is sort of blind tasting. Often I am disappointed to find that something I like is also something that costs a lot. Not in this case. This was very "friendly" sake, although that is not an official tasting term. Not insipid, maybe not immense depths that a more expensive sake would have, but a very pleasant sake to drink.”
“This is my "go-to" for cold Sake. Smooth and crisp when chilled. I sometimes drink it alone, like a glass of wine after dinner, to just take the edge off the day.”
