Ichinokura “Himezen” Ume Reviews

A very light, sweet sake when served cold/chilled. The sweetness is just the right amount, never straying off from excess or little.

I really like this sake--it has a nice lightly sweet flavour that isn't overbearing. It's quite refreshing to have a small glass of it on a hot day.

This sake for me must be paired with spicy food. With the right meal, this sake shows wonderfully well and is incredibly refreshing. It is extremely sweet- hence it needs a counterpoint. I do like it super chilled with something like spicy ramen. The super low ABV is nice too because friends who do not drink much handled this pretty easily!

Light, fruity, and sweet, it's a perfect taste.

Very sweet, but amazing flavor. I have to drink this ice cold, but it is very enjoyable to accompany a spicy, savory meal. My wife loves it.

Hi - we love it ice cold, too! And we have "warm" temperature unchecked from our recommendations after speaking to the brewery - they thought the sweetness and tartness was better expressed at colder or hot temperatures, and we agree! Thank you for your review.

I really like this one. It's very sweet and fruity and doesn't have that strong alcohol aftertaste I don't really like. You can definitely taste notes of plums and a bit of mango, but also tart at the same time. I think I found my new favorite

I used this sake as part of the dessert course for a six bottle/six Japanese course/six guest sake night. I poured the sake into six small glasses, which I placed in the freezer for several hours. This sake’s very low nihonshu-do and low ABV resulted in sake slush, which our guests loved as an accompaniment to Purim (a Japanese caramel custard made by one of our guests). My wife adores this one, wants to order more. I myself prefer much drier flavor, this to me was too sweet and a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. Must be served icy cold! Even the slightest warming makes it unpalatable!
