“Given that it's one of the few sakes I've seen recommended at 120°+, I had to try it hot. It's rated on the drier side, but I found it a very neutral flavor, with a distinct aftertaste of red licorice. Altogether, a delicious companion to a dinner of spicy seafood.”
“First off, please note that this is not my typical style of sake. I usually seek out bolder flavors.
The sake was crisp and clean, but for me it lacked in the flavor profile. While I got some subtle notes, nothing truly shined through. Chilled, this was refreshing with dinner, but not a great sipper. At room temperature, some of the flavors came through but not enough for me.
Overall this is a good sake, just not for me.”
“A good and enjoyable sake. It has a strong nutty and walnut taste and smell through it all. The taste also has a slight bitterness in the finish and contrasts well with the nutty notes. The body is smooth with a refreshing finish.”
Hi Robert,
Kikusui “Karakuchi” is really smooth and light sake! We also have Kikusui " Junmai". " Karakuchi" is really great balance, so it must be pair with some seafoods!
