“This is merely what I expect good sake to taste like. No surprises, as this wasn't a new sake for me. Otokoyama is the "(semi)-official sake" of the Tacoma Buddhist Temple ( Jodo Shinshu ), brought out for holidays and auspicious occasions. The bottle label characterizes it well - light, smooth and rich. I would say easy drinking, not in a pejorative way. Comfort sake for me.”
“I enjoyed this sake chilled while cooking, eating, and after a pork taco dinner. I found it to have a floral nose, with a pleasant rice and earthy flavor. There might have even been a slight vanilla aftertaste to it. Fantastic sake that I will make sure to enjoy again in the near future.”
“Visually the core and rim is clear, i enjoyed this sake chilled, on the nose i had floral notes with minerality. The pallet confirmed the nose with stone fruit flavors, it was dry with a short finish.”
“This nihonshu was pretty decent. I drank it at room temperature first and found it to be a bit bland compared to others I've had. Then I chilled it and some of the aromas came out. I didn't try heating it but that might increase the flavor as well. Might be nice to give it a shot, but I'll probably order a different one next time.”
“Nice, pretty smooth. Personally thought cold it wasn't anything special. Warmed up I liked it quite a bit, especially towards the warmest temps. A good addition to my roster of atsukans!”
