“This is a fantastically crafted tokubetsu junmai. I had found a bottle over a year ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. Was quite pleased to find it offered on Tippsy; and immediately made a purchase.
I find it very aromatic with an earthy anise type scent; I like to pour it into a traditional sakazuki to simply enjoy the aromas after pouring or between sips. On the palette it is rather dry with plenty of umami (aligns with how it is described above). I prefer it slightly chilled (as is recommended on the bottle). Speaking of the bottle, it comes in an uncommon 5 go (900 ml) size, which means that you get one more traditional "serving" than the standard 4 go (720 ml) bottles. This means that although it might seem to be more expensive than other junmai types, it's still a pretty good value by volume.”
“Clear in glass. Clean and smooth, but rice essence comes through. Hint of sweetness in aroma, like toasted marshmallows. Enjoyed with miso kimchi nabe, but would go well with many dishes. I really enjoyed this tokubetsu junmai.”
“I had bought this one at a local grocery store a couple times because I thought it was soo good! Unfortunately I moved and the local stores here don't carry it in their normal stock. I highly recommend this oversized bottle of nihonshu because it goes well with any occasion, to me: especially with red meat or by itself.”
