“This is a great way to have a variable dumbbell system without needing to fork out all the money and space for a traditional loadout. This is particularly the case since the olympic plates can then be used on an olympic barbell. That's one step closer to having a home gym! My only complaint is that they can be a bit cumbersome and bulky. I just ordered the 15in ones. When I do bench press, these 20in ones hit each other before I can get a full press in. This is the same when it comes to shoulder press. They work good for my flys though. If your shoulders are massively wide, this won't be a problem for you. One particular benefit to these though is that since they are so long, they work great for curls. With the overall weight extending further from your center grip, your biceps will be engage more when you make that rotation from the hammer grip at the side to the supinated grip at the top of your contraction. I went with Rogue's OSO Mighty Collars, and they work great size wise. I wonder how long the Rogue collars will last given the fact that the locking clamp mechanism is plastic.”
