“We used the scanner for reverse-engineering, simulations and failure analysis. Problem: casting cracks under mechanical and thermal stress that it has to withstand. We used the Einscan Pro HD to get the scan data, Geomagic and SolidEdge for reverse-engineering and Ansys to simulate the failure. The results are great, the scan data is very accurate, so our reverse-engineered model closely corresponds to the real object. The analysis from the simulation showed the weak spots in the design. In fact, these closely correspond to the actual cracks we've observed. We've redesigned the piece and it has worked for 5 months so far, not showing any signs it is about to crack in the near future. We'll see, but so far it has worked great.”

“This is a great scanner. I went with it pursuing versatility and it didn't disappoint: different modes, ability to scan both large and small objects, detailed results, we also got the turntable and tripod for making scans with higher accuracy. A bit sad that there's no macOS support but it's hardly a problem to me.”
