Matching Parts NP241DHD Matching Parts NP241DLD Applications
Tech Note 1: To Install Dodge factory Service Manuals call for installing these seals 0.080" to 0.100" (2.03-2.5 mm) below the top edge of the transfer case seal bore. However, all the brand new New Process Transfer Cases and Front Case Halves I have inspected have the face of the metal seal shell installed flush with the case bore. I do not know if the Dodge Manual incorrectly carried over the same specifications from 1994-1997 models or if Dodge engineers know something New Process engineers don't. From the way the wiper lip contacts the slinger, it seems to me that flush is the correct depth so that is how we install this seal in our shop using QT2051 Seal Installer. In a case like this, you will have to come to your own conclusion as to the best depth to install YOUR seal in YOUR transfer case.
