QU40119 Dana 50, Dana 60, Dana 70 Front Wheel Seal and Dana 70 Rear Wheel Seal is the genuine original equipment Dana Spicer replacement Front Wheel Seal for all Dana 50IFS, Dana 60, and Dana 61 Front drive axles used on 1970s to 1990s Chevy, Dodge, Ford, and GMC 1 ton and heavy duty 3/4 ton trucks using Dana Model 50, 60, or 61 axles with serviceable wheel bearings. QU40119 also fits 1969-1975 International 1 Ton 4x4s with Dana 70 closed knuckle front axles. QU40119 also fits 1959-1970 Jeep Dana 70 DRW Rear Axles. A really high quality Seal that features an outer wiper lip that protects the spring loaded inner lip from road grime, plus there is an inner steel face that deflects excess grease away from the lip. Tech Note 1: Installation More wheel seals are wrecked from poor installation procedures than from any other cause. Use QT1505 Seal Installer with a QT1100 series driver handle to seat the seal square in the hub bore and without damage. After the seal is installed, lubricate the seal lips with clean wheel bearing grease.
Tech Note 2: Universal UseAlthough heavy duty Dodge, Ford, and GM trucks had brand specific 4x4 front axle parts such as spindles and wheel hubs, they all used the same front wheel bearings and seals for the Dana 50 IFS (Ford), Dana 60 (all makes), and Dana 61 (Dodge) for approximately two decades. You will probably never see that type of part interchangeability again.
Tech Note 3: Wheel Bearing MaintenanceProperly lubricating and adjusting your front wheel bearings is critical for long component life. The spaces between the needle rollers must be completely filled with a clean, quality grease such as QU90018. QT5500 Bearing Packer does a great job of packing your bearings and keeping the grease clean between jobs, but you can hand pack the bearings if your hands are CLEAN. Wheel bearing adjustment procedures will vary by year and make, but typically, most shop manuals specify front wheel bearing end-play in the 0.001" to 0.009" range.
