QU50788 Shim Kit for Ford Sterling 10-1/4" and 10-1/2" Rear Axles allows you to replace your fragile original equipment cast iron shims with new steel shim packs. Kit includes four thick steel shim plates and a selection of thinner shims so you can build two shims to whatever thicknesses are needed for accurate gear backlash and differential bearing preload.

Tech Note 1: Customize Thickness The original cast iron shims are easily broken. QU50788 Replacement Shim Kits allow you to custom build each shim by combining thin, selective fit shims sandwiched between a pair of thicker steel shim plates.
Tech Note 2: ShimsFord Sterling original equipment standard cast iron shims varied in thickness from approximately 0.243" thick to 0.307" thick and the were made in increments of 0.002".
