“This purchase marks the end of a long journey to find a ready-made torch kit carrying case for one Bernzomatic TS8000 torch (Rothenberger Super Fire 2 equivalent), two gas cylinders and related accessories. MAP-Pro and Propane non-reusable gas cylinders are too dangerous to leave unprotected and unconstrained in a toolbox, let alone on any elevated surface. The only Bernzomatic carrying case option that once existed was the Worthington (Bernzomatic parent) 354947 carrying case which was never widely distributed and discontinued early last year. To date, there are no OEM carrying cases other than DIY customizations on the US market. The Rothenberger Hot Box, a tool set kit built upon the company's RoCase 4414 Tool Box, solves the issue at hand and delivers as expected. The Hot Box RoCase, a durable, modular, stack and lock case system compatible with many other Rothenberger tool set kits is configured with clean precut foam inserts that accommodate with precision fit two standard 17DS 1-liter volume ø2.9xL10.75 inch disposable steel non-reusable gas cylinders (17 liter, 14.1 ounce MAP-Pro/Propane pressurized gas capacity) and the included Super Fire 2 torch, the SPK Water Pump 10-inch Pliers, 15 and 22 mm Pipeslices, and an empty mystery slot for perhaps a pipe solder spool, flux or flame adapter. The gas cylinders are enveloped in foam with a 1/2-inch layer on bottom, a 3/4-inch layer in lid and 1/2-to-1 inch at sides. All I needed was the case and the precut foam inserts, but I love Rothenberger tools and the whole kit cost only US$20 more than an empty Pelican case, and who wants empty tool slots anyway. Not for nothing, the flexible Plumbers Soldering Mat makes protecting equipment and surrounding areas easy. Note: Rothenberger currently still markets the Super Fire 2 torch (rebranded Worthington-Bernzomatic TS8000) in the UK. But, their 2019 Main Catalog features only the Super Fire 3/4 (rebranded Sievert MetalJet/EasyJet torches). So, the Super Fire 2 Hot Box may not be around long.”
