In a standardized test set-up this rigging bollard was fastened to a trunk with 2 mounting straps and a load of 3 tons was applied for a duration of 3 minutes. The device did not register any deformation. Shear force between base plate and breaking tube was tested in another test-to-fail procedure and amounted to 9 tons. Taking the safety factor 5 into account we recommend a weight of 500 kg maximum for dynamic lowering tasks.
