“To begin, my husband and I went into the home buying process with nothing but a goal, a meager savings account, and some ambition. We had no knowledge of the loan approval process or what it would take to actually land a house. I did some research about the teacher next door program and I was immediately booked with Peter. During our first phone call he was patient and extremely knowledgable about the home buying process and he took his time asking all the necessary preliminary questions to create a profile that fits our family. With a volatile housing market Peter was honest and clear about what we should expect. The first few months proved to be rough but Peter was always available to guide us with numbers that fit our projected budget. When it was time to renew our approval Peter celebrated our improved credit scores and quickly updated our loan status. This allowed us to broaden our home options and it was just what we needed to be able to find a house and get our offer accepted. Peter was extremely efficient in the closing process and kept us informed through any and every change. As the loan approval progressed we were given weekly updates about documents needed, changes in market interest rates, and overall loan status. We were also given tips about how to move the process along smoothly. When talking to Peter you could feel the sincerity in his voice and you just knew you were speaking with someone who loved their job. Peter is someone who will commiserate during failures but also share in your joys as if he were next to you rather than hours away in a different state. I do not think we would have been able to navigate this process without the help of our realtor and Mr. Peter Beno. Thank you!!!”

“Peter was super flexible, helpful, and friendly! I do feel like Teacher Next Door in general pulled a bait and switch on us by advertising grants for teachers that are actually really difficult to get. Also, the closing costs are PRETTY hefty compared to other lenders… luckily, we got some seller concessions that made up for it, but it was arguably thousands more than it should have been.”

“Peter has worked with us for months and has been an integral to our understanding of the process as first time homebuyers. We weren’t always the easiest to work with and always had a ton of questions but Peter was always lovely and happy to help us understand. Thanks so much Peter!”
Thank you so much, Grace, for your kind words about Peter and your wonderful 5 star rating. It's so nice to hear that Peter was able to help you out throughout your first-time home buying process. We are so glad you enjoyed working with him. Thanks again!
“Though I don't doubt that he had good intentions, I felt so alone working with Peter. He didn't strike me as competent enough to do the job efficiently so I was very grateful for the junior officer, Dani. My heart raced every time I saw his number on my phone because there was always an issue that he couldn't articulate to me clearly which led to severe anxiety flair-ups. My realtor's emails were ignored. He tried to give me another attorney when I already had one. My appraisal was ordered late which caused me to have to pay a rush fee. He was assigned to me as a liaison for Teacher Next Door but all I got from the program was part of my appraisal paid. I don't doubt that I should have gotten more from that program but he didn't seem to have a clue about TND nor did he care about helping me save money. I seriously contemplated leaving True View and New American and going with another lender. I was even in talks with another LO but I stayed ONLY because closing on August 7 was a very high priority. On the closing day, the wire transfer to the title company was short. I called Peter and he didn't even know what was going on. I was relaying info to him via the site company and what Peter was telling me was contradictory to what they were saying.
All things considered, I was extremely disappointed in my first homebuying experience and I wouldn't recommend neither True View Lending nor New American Funding.”
