Ok so here’s my very first ever review. Enjoy. I just brought this as I use Milwaukee tools at work, I tried it with both my newer 4Ah (1-2 years old) and older 3Ah (10+ years old) batteries. The 4Ah actually lasts longer than 10min on low speed, happy days, the 3Ah under 10min. Sad times, luckily though, I have many batteries. I’d recommend getting a 5-6Ah or higher if you’re thinking about getting one battery. The 4Ah on low speed lasted roughly 90yards of constant use on grass/nettles against a metal fence. Also the fast draining of the battery makes it to hot to put straight on charge, requiring 15-20min to cool down enough to even start charging, so either have many batteries or one big battery. Depends on how much use you have. Learn from my mistake here - Don’t swamp the head in long thick brush, the head has a tendency to tangle up long strands such as nettles around the head and guard area if you do. Also wear safety glasses, don’t be that muppet who thinks the plastic guard will protect them. It won’t. You’ll understand when bits start flying everywhere. So far I have massacred: short grass, long grass, nettles, blackberry bush/brambles, cowslip and thistles to about an inch thick, so this trimmer….it will cut. It does get up to speed quicker than a petrol, and it’s a damn sight quieter, it sounds kinda like a slightly quieter version of a black and decker corded garden trimmer you’d have won if you’d have hit 3 on bully’s prize board. Luckily though you’ll have it for longer than it takes the board to turn around, as I can confirm that no damage was sustained on its first use. Nice. It also has a good braking system that takes less time to stop than a petrol, it is however just as lethal to flora and fauna, as whilst cutting long grass earlier a frog jumped up into the area which is best described as the spinning arena of floral decimation and destruction. Nothing stops that quickly. Sorry froggy. So it turns out that this trimmer…it will kill. At first I was expecting something you’d find on a shelf at toys r us, but, to be fair it did a decent enough job, it was lacking a little on the harder stuff but did the easier bits great. So overall it’s damn good for every light duty job and it’s damn capable at medium duty, but heavy duty… I’d stick with internal combustion.
