“This oil cooler is pretty straight-forward to install. You definitely need to remove the bumper. I recommend some sort of universal mount as it does not come with one. Once mounted and spaced enough distance away from the evaporator/radiator, the rest is pretty simple.
The pedestal works really well and all of this kit seems of pretty good construction. It is a ten bar oil cooler! The lines are pretty stiff but that’s good actually. The AN fittings worked well and nothing leaked at all. The hardest part was fitting the lines from in front of the radiator to under the car through the radiator frame.
In the end , all the parts were present and used. The fit was as good as could be expected.
So far I’ve run it for 400 miles and no issues!
The pedestal even has 2-1/8” NPT fittings . I did an oil temp and pressure sensor to a gauge for added data visualization.
The only small issue is the oil filter they ship with it claims to be from Mercedes but after going to 2 MB dealers, the filter is actually made by MHI (not sure why a Mercedes sticker was on it but MB has no record of the part number.). The only cross referenced filter, that fit properly, was a Mobil 1 filter. Fran and K and N were suggested but did not thread properly or bottomed out.
For the price, it’s a 10 for me!”
