“Competition Clutch is a reputable brand with excellent products. Even though this seems pricey, it is one of the only three clutch/flywheel kits that are truly worth considering for the 10th gen Si, with the others being a kit made by ACT that is often out of stock, and the Type R retrofit by eman which is very difficult to get ahold of in any reasonable amount of time.
The CC Lightweight (22lb) flywheel is a single mass design that sheds over 10lbs compared to the factory double-mass flywheel. This translates into improved response and a massive reduction of rev-hang, so you will not be penalized by the car lurching during rapid upshifts shifts the way you are with the stock flywheel. It is also telling that the 11th gen flywheel was changed to a single-mass unit with a similar weight! The Ultra-Light 17lb option is certainly more extreme and a bit harder to live with on a daily, but if that's what you're into, then go for it.
The street clutch itself is a well-built sprung unit (sprung clutches are necessary to keep a SMF easy to live with). It's rated for 425lbft, and the race clutch is rated for 500lbft, so if you're pushing more torque out of your L15 than these can handle, you probably should have just bought a Type R to begin with, dude. The design of this clutch allows for easy but confident engagement, perfect for spirited driving on a daily.
This kit also comes with and upgraded pressure plate and the clutch alignment tool and required hardware, including a new bearing, which makes for an excellent value.”
