“The course was good and informative of the 4 disciplines that were taught across 4 modules. It is a good sampler pack that enables us to decide what field to pursue going forward. The opportunity to build a portfolio was great. It's a good starting place for anyone thinking of a creative career. The online delivery provides a lot of flexibility to study in your on time and work around other commitments. The tutors of the course, particularly Dante and Cecilia were absolutely amazing. They were very helpful and proactive in helping out when needed, through the one on one sessions. The content covered in the course is also really good. Im glad it was not too basic or generic but actually exposed us to the foundations of each of these creative disciplines, which we then got to put into practice through the projects as well. It was wonderful to have access to Adobe Creative Cloud as it's in high demand in the job market and the course has enabled us to put this on to our CVs, adding great value. I was able to learn so many new things that I otherwise may not have done on my own.
Only thing I wish was if we had better communication and support during the course. Instead of just having to read modules if we could have had may be short recorded lectures to support the content especially the software labs it would've been great. There should also have been a course outline provided at the beginning of the course with all assessment deadlines for each module, which would help us organise our time better. If there were groups on teams or piazza that would have helped us better, to seek feedback or engage with our classmates and tutors as opposed to having to go to the Forum which was sort of hidden and was difficult to get responses for people. There should've been a better system to get notified every time somene posts in the forum. May be having it linked to our email or so could work as we may not always be logged on. The other thing may be instead of only having to schedule one on ones. It would help to have a zoom drop in session on Fridays for people to drop in and ask questions to the tutors, instead of always having to rely on one on ones. This way we can take away something from other students' questions as well.
Barring the few above mentioned technicalities that I faced, I would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to start out in the creative field but wants a solid understanding of where to begin, and identify their strengths and weaknesses to chose the appropriate career pathway.”
