This is a big improvement over the stock tube (6992eh) on my Aune T1. The minute i plugged it in i noticed the improvement. The first things that jumps out is MIDRANGE!! I just realized how recessed and bland the mids were on my old tube. This takes vocals to another level. And the soundstage, oh the soundstage.. so deep, so wide, and imaging is top notch also! Warmth, clarity, transparency, this tube has it all. A few things i dislike: less bass than my old tube (though the quality is better) output volume is slightly lower than my old tube RECOMMENDED!

Got this for my Aune T1 DAC/AMP which was running the stock tube. Just installed and already felt compelled to come on and write a review. I'm on Philips Fidelio X1's, Fisual S-flex mini cable and Qobuz Lossless streaming. I was very happy with my recent change from Spotify to Qobuz but had always wondered about this tube. Well it's all true, holographic sound stage and added detail retrieval, noticed especially in vocals, SO much vocal nuance it is really moving to hear the artist pouring their soul out. Bass is tight and accurate. Nothing harsh or sibilant. To me it sounds really smooth but not too laid back or recessed. Overall brilliant and worth shipping over to the UK. I got driver grade. VERY well protected in its packaging. Very happy with my current headphone setup now and think you'd have to spend bonkers more for a few percent improvement:) In conclusion BUY and enjoy:D Right, back to the music...

Picked up these tubes to run in my Bottlehead Reduction (w/Integration upgrade) phono preamp. These tubes really put some life in that preamp. I've run the stock NOS tubes, EH6922's and reissue Gold Lion EC88's in it. Every tube change brought improvement, but these Amperex JAN7308's really kicked it in gear. Outstanding lows, flowy mids, and highs that are right where they ought to be IMO. Can't recommend them enough for similare applications. Stellar performance at a fantastic price.

I bought this for my Aune T1. It is the 2nd tube for the unit. Comparing this with the 6922 EH tube (came with the unit) the Amperex 7308 has more definition. However not overbearing. Exactly what I'm looking for. More clarity with the ranges. Took about a day or so to warm it up.

I'd say the Electro-Harmonix 6922 is the poor, ill-mannered cousin of the Amperax 7308. If you like the EH 6922, you'll love this tube. The Amperax 7308 has a lovely deep, controlled bass, a warm, full, and beautiful mid-range, and a silky treble. If you're using HD-800s and are sensitive to the 6-10 kilohertz spike, this tube will go a long way toward addressing it (but I wouldn't say the treble is rolled off--just subtle, rich, and elegant). As of Jan., 2014, Woo Audio offers the Amperax 7308 as an upgrade for the WA2, but charges $290 for a pair. Thanks, Upscale Audio, for making this gorgeous tube available for such a reasonable price, and for offering driver-grade tubes at a discount.

I don't have much of experience with tubes, but this Amperex is a delight in the Aune T1 DAC (which feeds into an old Sansui AU555A amplifier and Monitor Audio BX2 speakers). I can hear the spit in Miles's trumpet...

I bought this tube for an Aune T1 DAC/headphone amp. I didn't expect to hear a difference between it and the Electro Harmonix 6922EH that came with the T1 but wow, what a difference. The sound is almost holographic and very sweet. I'm glad I spent the money for a premium tube.

The Aune T1 is my first experience with tubes and, after a few weeks with the 6922EH which came with the unit (which I like well enough) and a bit of time with a Voskhod which I found to be harsh, I decided to try an NOS tube. To see if it made a difference. Boy did it! Even out of the box the Amperex gave a rich sound with a great soundstage and detail in the music that I hadn't heard before. The Aune uses the tube as a DAC buffer so I was able to use Driver Grade which resulted in a significant saving but still resulted in a great tube. UA gave great service. I will definitely use this site again.
