“Excellent and versatile piece of hifi gear. If you enjoy discovering new music all you need is a streaming service and the Altair for hours of music enjoyment. The IOS app has a few bugs and could be better in terms of navigation but is usable and gets the job done. Sound quality and features on the Altair are first class especially playing hi-res files. I also had the 2TB drive installed and found loading my purchased files to be extremely simple when done through my home network. I added a 500GB drive to the USB connection on the back of the Altair which works flawlessly in playing back my old music collection. Another feature I have utilized is running my CD player as a transport using the digital coax out connected to the Altair which has a much better analog section when compared to the CD player. All in all this is one of the best upgrades I have ever made to my system.”

“This is a lovely piece of equipment, with great built quality, and a very good app to operate it. I’m using with Qobuz to stream over WiFi, and it’s sounding great. I reached out to the Auralic support team with a couple of questions, and received a timely and thorough response. Upscale installed the hard drive and I’m in the process of importing my CD collection. Everything is working like a charm, and I’m very pleased with the purchase”

“I purchased the Altair G1 nearly a month ago and it has changed the way that I listen to music. I have my entire CD collection totaling nearly 50,000 ALAC & AIFF tracks ripped to the SSD connected to this streamer DAC. The sound of my collection is outstanding via my speakers and through my Focal headphones using this unit. I have been listening to more music lately than I have in years since acquiring the unit. It sounds that good! I was able to repurpose an old iPad to run the Lightning DS app used by Auralic to operate the Altair G1. It was very easy to set up and use. I also have a Qobuz and it can be used through the LDS app too. I have no regrets about my purchase or buying it from Upscale Audio, which was a positive experience. Kevin Deal had done a YouTube video for this unit and it was helpful in my buying decision. I would highly recommend the Altair G1 and buying it from Upscale Audio.”
