“Following a review of another customer using a PrimaLuna EVO 100 DAC, I decided on the AURALiC Aries G1 after comparing a few similar competing streamers. I've not been disappointed, at all. The sound stage and the presence of the music from the Aries G1 through my PrimaLuna analog system leave a stunning impression.”

Hi David, Thanks so much for your review. Auralic and PrimaLuna make a great combination for listeners who don't want the sound to get overly gooey and plush. Auralic provides all the microdetail, and PrimaLuna throws in some tube magic, and it's a wonderful combination for all but people who like dead neutral or cool-sounding gear.

“I'm going with 5 stars because it was pretty easy to set up and get running. Of course, it sounds really good and the Lightning DS works as described. No need to buy another streaming service interface for me. The integration with my Hugo TT2 was easy enough as well. I do think the manual could do a better job of demystifying adding USB drive storage. I haven't heard anyone talk about drive formatting in a long while and really never want to hear about it again. That's just me tho.”

“The Lightning DS app leaves a lot to be desired, though functional. However the unit works great with Roon. I really wish it just came with a remote because I had to buy one in order to train my universal remote and the unit with the IR commands. WiFi connection seems strong enough for streaming any level of audio quality, but is a little slow for transferring audio files to a locally attached drive if you do wish to use Lightning DS. Overall pretty nice, though!”
