“Was curious to try these based on other reviews so I bought two and replaced the two stock inside preamp tubes on my Primaluna Evo 400. With my very revealing Tannoy Stirling GR speakers, these tubes are ideal for letting more of the sweetness and detail come through and more importantly the edginess I heard at higher volume disappeared. I bought another pair as back up. Highly recommended.”

“I’m still burning them in but they were quieter than the stock tubes immediately. The sound is smoother and less forward with a bit more air in the first position on my Primaluna preamp.”

“This is my first tube swap experience on a PrimaLuna EV0400 integrated. I wanted to start small, yet make a big impact. Enter Josh @ Upscale Audio, who recommended the Brimar CV4003 NOS cryos for my 2 center preamp tubes. Based on some of the reviews I was concerned that the tubes would be bright for my system which consists of Focal Sopra 2 speakers, Oppo BDP95 cd/sacd player, PS Audio Sprout, PS Audio DirectStream Power Plant P12, Sutherland 20/20 phono stage + LPS, and a VPI Super Prime Scout with the Hana ML cartridge - all hooked up via a loom of Triode Wire Labs power, speaker cables, and interconnects. Replacing the stock 12AU7s were easy enough. The Brimars immediately brought out a wider soundstage and more detail at the higher frequencies, all while improving and tightening the bass response. However, it did all this without adding any harshness or fatigue at the higher frequencies. These tubes are keepers, and I will be asking Upscale for recommendations on the other preamp tubes. I plan on running with the stock EL34 power tubes for a while.”

“Great tube! Using the Brimar CV4003 in center positions and Gold Lion KT77 Power Tubes in Prima Luna Dialog Premium Monoblocks. The sound is very transparent, open and holographic. Very musical, dynamic with surprisingly good bass. The overall sound is clear and well balanced, the best sound ever in my system.”
