“Replaced old 6H30's that had begun to hiss and crackle. New tubes very quiet. After about 50 hours, tone and detail are as expected; 3d good but hoping for more once reach 100 hours or more.”

“The difference in sound between new stock ARC tubes and the replacements from Upscale Audio was much bigger than expected. The highs were clearer, bass tighter and yet deeper. The overall image was wider and more involving. I expected some improvement but this upgrade unveiled a new layer I never knew was missing.”

“Installed a set of these tube a couple weeks ago. Quieter and much less microphonic than the old set they replaced. Pleased that Upscale allowed me to buy one back-up pair!”

“I can't say where the diminishing return thing kicks in in regards to Cryo, this system is reasonably revealing and I'd guess that would probably matter and yes, it's the first time I've tried the Cryo treatment - - that said, from this experience, I know I'll always go with Cryo treatment in future tube sets - - this may be the 4th or 5th tube set for my ARC Ref6SE - - which is the upgraded SE version from a standard Ref6, that's the reason for having employed a few tube sets already - - this is EASILY the best set of tubes I've ever had in this line stage, and no, I'm not hypnotized, especially considering that I really didn't expect any difference over a normal match set of tubes. Also (and I've had standard Sovtek matched sets direct from ARC in this unit, which of course are excellent too), I do think the Gold Lion (gold pins) Electro-Harmonix sound better, actually, I know they do, so don't hesitate in getting ya panties knotted up and going for it if your system warrants that bit of extra investment. As a side note, I'm planning on ordering a set for my Phono3SE too - - - Sorry if this sounds like an advertisement, struck me that way as I reread it before submitting, but it's completely honest and based solely on my own personal experience.”
