“I tried Winged C's and Gold Lion reissues in my Ray Lumley M-100 monos and found the SED tubes too dull and the Lions too bright. They were both outclasssed in bass extension/power and tonal accuracy by the EH tubes. Soundstaging and imaging also improved. Low level detail is excellent. Dynamics are more linear, as I found the Lions especially to exhibit sudden jumps in level instead of a smooth transition between loud and soft sounds.An annoying upper midrange glare also disappeared. If these tubes prove reliable (and my amps run ultralinear at a plate voltage of 560 volts, so the tubes need to able to take the punishment), I would recommend them over any other KT88 I've heard. I haven't heard the original MO Valve Genalex, and probably never will, so for my money these are the ones to beat.”

“I CALLED UPSCALE AND TOLD KEVIN DEAL THAT HE SOLD ME THE PRIMA LUNA PROLOGUE 3 AND 4 PRE AND AMP AND WANTED TO CHANGE THE FLAVOR BECAUSE MY EL34'S SOUNDED HOLLOW SOMETIMES ON ROCK MUSIC. HE RECOMMENDED THE ELECTRO HARMONIX KT88'S AND I QUOTE: "THE ELECTRO HARMONIX KT88 THEY ARE A GREAT TUBE CHEAP" KEVIN HAS NOT LET ME DOWN SINCE I'VE BEEN SHOPPING AT UPSCALE. MY DECISION WAS INSTANT BECAUSE KEVIN IS ALWAYS SPOT ON WITH THE TUBE GEAR AND I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER . THESE TUBES ARE VERY VERY NICE. THE QUALITY BUILD AND SOUND FOR THE PRICE IS TERRIFIC!! THEY ARE FASTER WITH THE LIQUID WARMTH THAT I LOVE TO HEAR IN MUSIC REPRODUCTION. ITS JUST FANTASTIC FOR ALL MY ROCK AND JAZZ MUSIC! BUY ELECTO HARMONIX ITS A WONDERFUL TUBE AND I AM CONFIDENT YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!”

“I just replaced a Pair of older Winged C 6550WB tubes with a pair of these and WOW. Its been said that these arent the warmest sounding available, but i think with KT88's that becomes a moot point. Thier deep,round, cello bass notes, bright, bell-like top end and overall glassy smooth texture overwhelms the ear anyway. A pair of KT88 "supertubes" for less than 80 bucks thats awesome!”

“I just installed quad of this platinum matched tubes in my Cary Audio SLI80 Signature F1 and I am very happy with their performance. Kevin is right that they are not the warmest sounding tubes around but the soundstage and midrange is very impressive. I listen a lot to female vocalists and these tubes seem to be a great match for that type of material. Next, I will be trying EH 6922s......and possibly Edison 6922...Thank you for the excellent customer service...”
