“I bought these GE 12AU7's last summer, but just recently matched a pair of vintage 300B monoblocks with 1977 Klipsch LaScalas. The Jadis Defy DP60 preamp still performed well with the installed Siemens 12AX7's. However, the GE 12AU7's proved amazingly quiet with a soundstage depth and clarity I was not expecting. The tubes are still in the break-in period, so I am looking forward to a steady improvement in sound. I could not agree more with Robert Levi in his review, "added definition, layering, blacker background, and greater realism.””

“Like another review the top end was rather low from the start. It was very weak, but what stood out to me was the bottom end. The bass has that throaty sound. It almost sounds like a growling sound. I love that sound. It reminds me of my old Sansui receiver made in the 70s. As far as the top end, just give it time. I'm still in the break in period and these tubes just keep getting sweeter every day. I plan to buy some more. Thank you Upscale Audio!!! PS. The mids are excellent as far as my 50 year old ears are concerned!! Great Tubes!! You can't go wrong with these tubes. Still, sound is subjective. What sounds good to me may not sound good to another.”
