“Bought these for a Lyr 2. I had been using old tubes picked up at an electronic surplus shop. Nothing esoteric. I wasn't blown away with the Lyr 2 and was considering selling it. Took a chance on the Gold Lions and feel like they've breathed new life into the Lyr. Warm, yet very clear.”

“Greetings: i have been rolling tubes for a few years for my PS Audio BHK amps and this is the latest to inhabit the amp. Started with the stock tubes (which were the same brand) but then switched to Telefunken and then Tungram (no longer available), and now needed some new tubes. The stock tubes were decent but i figured getting some new ones from Upscale might be a better choice than getting them from PS as i suspect that UA is better suited to matching, grading, etc. I was hoping that they would be at least as good as the aged Tungsram they were replacing, but they really surprised me. I realize it is not fair to compare tubes with over 2000 hours on them to new tubes, but that is all i could do. Bottom Line: I think these are really great and do not break the bank like some more rarer tubes might. As someone said to me about tubes and prices: "being more expensive does not necessarily mean they are better, they are just rarer". Thank you Upscale.”
